TAMPERE POLYTECHNIC - TAMPEREEN AMMATTIKORKEAKOULU

Tampere Polytechnic is a multi-disciplinary polytechnic with a Teacher Education Centre and four schools. The mission of the Teacher Education Centre is to train professionals for the field of vocational education and the main task is to organise teacher training for teachers of polytechnics, vocational schools and adult education centres. The Teacher Education Centre has been involved in several European projects funded by the European Commission (TEMPUS, LEONARDO) and the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The role of the institution will be to contribute knowledge and experience of distance learning techniques applied to vocational teacher training in Finland, particularly regarding the use of the VLE, "WebCT". The Polytechnic will also contribute to the design and delivery of training programmes in the use of VLEs, and participate in project management.
