VLE Inter-compatibility - Technical forum

• Aims:
  • to analyse research data gathered on the use of different VLEs
  • to investigate the possibilities of VLE operation across different platforms
  • to make recommendations for future EU harmonisation regarding VLE usage
• Duration:
  1 December 2004 - 31 January 2006
• Working methods and techniques:
  The technical forum will be organised in the 5th project group meeting and data gathering will be organised using electronic means.
  P8 will examine the inter-compatibility of VLEs and P3 will add financial and quality considerations for selecting VLEs.
  The recommendations will be distributed in electronic format to all participants. Reflections and suggestions for modifications will be gathered before the finalisation of recommendations in task c.. These recommendations will be disseminated at the 2nd conference and published on the website.

  • International conferences of European professional Associations (CEDEFOP, ATEE, SEFI, IGIP, etc.)
• Quality management:
  
  • The technical forum will ensure a firm basis for recommendations.
  • All members of the consortium will provide feedback on the validity and reliability of findings.
• Outcomes:
  • The "Electronic Learning Strategy" (a substantial paper based report)
  • Technical papers on VLE choice and implementation
  • Recommendations on EU level harmonisation of VLE usage
  • Conference proceedings
